Zakspeed – a name that stands for success in motorsports
Zakspeed has already been active in motorsports for more than 30 years and is the most successful racing team in all of Germany with more than 400 races won and 15 national and international titles. Since 1970, Zakspeed has been working together with various manufacturers in touring car sports almost continuously as a factory team. In the years 1985 – 1989, Zakspeed participated in Formula 1 with its own engine and chassis.

Who can forget the great Zakspeed victories with the „dog bone“ Escort, the Ford Capri, the BMW M3, the DTM Mercedes, and, last but not least, the ITC victories with the Opel Calibra. Drivers like Hans Heyer, Dieter Glemser, Jody Scheckter, Jonathan Palmer, Bobby Rahal, Jochen Maass, Jackie Stewart, Bernd Schneider, Christian Danner, Michael Schumacher, and Klaus Ludwig have sat behind the wheel for Zakspeed.

In the motor sport season 2006 Zakspeed runs a Saleen S7 R in the FIA GT Championship 2006. At the first GT round in Silverstone (UK) the Zakspeed-Saleen finished second and in round two the great American sports car was overall winner in Brno (CZ).
